Sorry it’s been a while. I’ve been out with virtual real estate agents 👀 for my new 🏠 in the Metaverse. The Metaverse is the new Miami, I’m telling you. I found a great place with a remarkably low per square pixel rent, I hope it works out.
Reviews of Murder at First Principles 👏
My debut 📖, Murder at First Principles, has been getting excellent reviews (🙏 Mom!). Straight ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on Goodreads, including from master VC and voracious reader Brad Feld, super flattering. Amazon is also showing almost all five stars, and the few four-star reviews are quite positive.
Interviews 🎤
I was interviewed by Nick Moran on his Full Ratchet podcast. We discussed my non-consensus investment thesis at Jumpspeed Ventures and of course we talked about the book.
I also spoke with the (South Africa based) Business Book Club about Murder at First Principles and the business strategy theories of Hamilton Helmer that are woven into my novel.
Fever Pitch ✍️
My forthcoming novel, Fever Pitch, explores the secret to the perfect startup pitch, through the riveting tale of a well-meaning startup founder who gets mixed up with the mafia. The manuscript is almost ready for final edit. Stay tuned! See the promo 🎥👇
What I’ve Been Reading 📚
Here are three books I’ve read recently that I recommend:
Life 3.0 - An excellent exploration of the promise and potential futures of artificial intelligence by MIT professor Max Tegmark.
Wanting: The Power of Mimetic Desire in Everyday Life - Startup founder / thinker Luke Burgis acquaints readers with the concept of Mimetic Theory and its impact on human psychology and behavior, as developed by French polymath René Girard.
The Maintenance Race - Stewart Brand tells the captivating story of the 1968 solo around-the-world sailing race, and the lessons to be learned from three of its participants.
Happy reading!
Looking forward for fever pitch!!!
